Phaplu Everest Base Camp trek is pleasantly adventurous trek in Everest region in Solukhumbu. Khumbu region is popular for Sherpa culture, monasteries and panoramic views of natural landscape on the foothill of Mt. Everest. Phaplu to EBC trekking is less crowded by the tourists. Trekking in Khumbu region is wonderful trip in the world famous area of Mt. Everest which is full of astonishing views of mountains and glaciers. Trekking in this trail provides close-up view of mountains like Amadablam, Lhotse, Makalu, Cho Oyo, Nuptse, and peaks like Mera, Island, Kongde etc. and hundreds of peaks and mountains and glaciated valley.
Phaplu EBC Trekking trail starts from Phaplu and continues through the green valleys, forests of rhododendron; pasture lands, green hills with lush vegetations, and flowery slopes. Along the trail, there are many ancient monasteries, chörtens and prayer flags while passing through culturally rich Sherpa villages. People of the area are very hospitable and able to preserve their unique culture and Tibetan Buddhism. Most of the people in this region have farming as their occupation though some of them are working as trades men of local products. Trekkers can see hundreds of sheep and yak grazing in meadows while trekking to the Base Camp from Phaplu. Phaplu EBC trekking follows the same trail from Namche bazaar though it starts from Phaplu rather than from Jiri or Lukla therefore trekkers can end their trek at Jiri/Lukla or at Phaplu. Most attractive views of Mt. Everest (8848m.), Mt. Lhotse (8516m.), Cho Oyo (8152m.), Mt. Makalu (8463m.), Mt. Amadablam (6456m.), Thamserku (6506m.) and many other peaks around Everest Base Camp.

We fly on a twin-engine Otter to the Himalayan foothills where we begin our trek into the High Solu area. The sights from the plane are amazing, providing dramatic views of terraced hills and the distant Himalayan giants. After landing in the village of Phaplu , we meet the rest of our staff and porters. The Phaplu is small airstrip in Solukhumbu; we start very few treks from Phaplu it takes 35 minute by plane. When you get down from plane, you can see excellent view of Sherpa town and Numbur/Khatang/Kerolung. The Trekking trail follows Chiwang and Phera through a pine tree and rhododendron forest alive with birds. As large numbers of Sherpa people live in Solukhumbu, therefore it is popularly known as Sherpa village. We stay overnight at teahouse.
Which takes approximately four hours, The beginning of your trek is gently ascent for early one and half hours to Takshindo La Pass (3100m.).From this place, you could see first view of Thamserku (6623m.), Kantega (6780m.), Kusum Kangaru (6370m.) and Mera Peak (6650m.) Now the end of your trek is steeply descent to the town Nunthala (2200m.) through small Sherpa settlement and forest . We stay overnight at teahouse.
Today trek from Nunthala the descent continues to the Dudh Kosi (‘Milk River’) and cross this river using a 109m long suspension bridge (1510m) then climbs out of the river valley through fields of barley, wheat and corn to the sprawling Rai village of Jubing (1680m). We continue to climb up a ridge to a Sherpa village named Khari Khola (2010m). After cross the suspension bridge at Khari Khola then trail ascent with pass some water driven mills then continue climb to Bupsa (2360m) overnight at teahouse
Today trek starts with a gentle climb, passing the village of Kharte and continues on through forests inhabited by monkeys. From this part of the trek we can admire views of Cho Oyu (8153m). We keep climbing the ridge till we reach the teashop on Khari La pass at 2840m. From the pass, the trail descents into the deep canyon of Puiyan Khola. After crossing bridge we reach the small settlement of Puiyan (2770m). The trail climbs up and down for about an hour after Puiyan to a ridge that offers a good view of the Khumbu region and then descents about 500m towards Surke (2290m). Continuing our trail upwards again, we climb through a jumble of boulders, passing some wonderful mani walls until we reach at Chablung (2700m). Overnight at teahouse
The trail drops steeply for bit then descends to Thado Khosi gaon there is suspension bridge that you have to cross after that you see the head of the valley Mt. Kusum Kanguru (6367m). After bridge climbs bit to reach at Ghat (2590m) on banks of the Dudh Koshi River just short visit at monastery then little easy walk then after climb again to reach at Phakding (2610m) after that the trail we cross the Dudh Koshi river and climb gently the valley to Toktak (2760m) and Benkar (2710m) The trail keeps close to the river valley and is lined with beautiful blue pine and rhododendron forest that is very spectacular in the spring months, when the flowers are in bloom and also you will see the beautiful waterfall. We will see the snow-capped peak of Thamserku (6623m) & Khumbi La (5765m) at Benkar. We cross the Dudh Kosi River at Benkar. From here it is only a short walk to Monjo (2840m). Just beyond the Monjo trek enters the Sagarnatha (Everest) national park where you need to check your permits. After checking the permits the trail steep rocky descend to large farm aftermath cross bridge at Dudh Kosi and follow the west banks. Just short distance up the river is Jorsale (2830m). The trail follows the river for a while, then re-crosses the Dudh Koshi along the river bank and after short ups and downs, makes a steep climb near the confluence of the two rivers (Bhote Koshi & Dush Koshi) then little climb and re-crosses bridge at Dudh Koshi after that the trail follows steeply ascent towards the Namche Bazaar(3440m). One hour before arrive Namche Bazaar from where we may see the Mt. Everest (8848m), Lhotse (8516m) and Nuptse (7879m) first time in your life. Namache bazaar is gate way to khambu. Namche is the main trading village in the Khumbu region and holds a busy Saturday market. There is set a meeting place for the Hindu traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan yak caravans that have reached there by crossing the glaciated Nangpa La pass. Overnight at teahouse.
This day we leave Namche bazaar and walk for some time along the ridge and then descend to Dudh Koshi River at Phunkithanka. Then after crossing the bridge we ascend in the steep path up to the Tengboche. On reaching Tengboche you will see the local monastery. Tengbohe have largest Monastery of Khumbu region. Overnight at Guesthouse.
From Tengboche the trail drops to Debuche, crosses another exciting suspension bridge on the Imja Khola, and climbs to Pangboche amongst thousands of Mani stones. Our uphill trek continues, taking us to the quaint traditional Sherpa village of Dingboche with its exquisite views of Lhotse, Island Peak, and Ama Dablam. We take our time so we avoid getting affected by the altitude. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Today you can enjoy another day for acclimatization. We will have trip to Chhukung valley via the Imja Khola valley to get a marvelous view of the surrounding mountains, especially Lhotse’s massive south wall, then return to Dingboche in the evening. Overnight at Guesthouse.
Today, the trail continues along the lateral moraine of the Khumbu Glacier and passes by stone memorials for climbers who have perished on nearby summits. We continue to climb as we are heading to the altitude of 4910 meters at Lobuche which is really just a few huts at the foot of giant Lobuche peak. Some breathing problems may arise today due to the altitude. Overnight at Guesthouse.
This is another big and difficult day walk along the Khumbu Glacier and up to Everest Base Camp at 5365 meters, the closest you can get to Mt. Everest without mountaineering equipment. There will likely be a team there about to attempt the summit. The view of the Khumbu Icefall from Base Camp is spectacular. We return back to Gorak shep for the night. Overnight at Guesthouse.
This will be one of the most difficult yet rewarding days of the trek. In the morning we climb Mt. Kala Pattar, a small peak. From Kala Pattar we can see the most magnificent mountain panorama of Everest, the highest point on the planet at 8848 meters, towers directly ahead and other giants, Nuptse, Pumori, Chagatse, Lhotse and countless others. We make a quick descent to Gorak Shep, a tiny hamlet at 5180 meters then trek down to Pheriche. Overnight at guesthouse.
We retrace our route back to Tengboche via Pangboche. Overnight at Guesthouse
We descend on the steep path to the Dudh Koshi and then climb up to Namche Bazaar. Overnight at guesthouse.
Finally we return to Lukla where the trek began, which will seem like a lifetime ago. Enjoying time to reflect on the trek as a group and the personal achievement of all those who took part. Also giving you time to explore the town. Overnight at Guesthouse.
In the morning, we take the tiny aircraft to flight from Lukla to Kathmandu which is very interesting scenery flight journey on the earth. After arrival in Kathmandu airport we drive you to hotel.
Morning, you will be free. Afternoon we will drop you to the Kathmandu International Airport for the departure flight to home.
